Welcome to All Seasons Philipburn Hotel

The All Seasons Philipburn is a haven unlike most. Enter our gateway and find a 4* hotel which is big enough to matter but small enough to care. Family run, we have 20 letting rooms, a restaurant for fine dining, a bar open to the public  with good old fashioned bar meals and of course a large range and variety of drinks. Our large function room and beautifully manicured gardens are perfect for weddings of up to 200 guests.

We have a saying at the Philipburn to describe the peace and quiet – “silence broken only by the sheep!” Recently having come under new ownership and management, you will find a stylish country house hotel but in modern surroundings and sporting new technology to help make your stay smooth and memorable. We are green too! We have two fully electric minibuses and a fully registered taxi service to bring guests to us and take them home again afterwards. You will enjoy exploring the Philipburn!

Rooms & Suites

Our 20 guest bedrooms are all different and many have unique features but above all we can offer you space and comfort with a range of rooms to suit every choice and pocket including family rooms. Some rooms all offer “that little bit extra” all of which is deisgned to create a “home from home” environment. You won’t want to leave!

Our rooms are constantly updated and maintained the hotel has a rolling programme of bringing in new facilities and the most modern technology to help us to run it. In fact tailor your stay the way you want it – perhaps with a bottle of bubbly awaiting your arrival, fruit and chocolates in the room or plans for a special dinner to make that weekend away a really romantic occasion. The sky is the limit and bounded only by your own imagination. Let us know in advance what you want and we will do our best to provide it for you.

DINING & DRINKING

Our Restaurant & Bar

At the Philipburn, we realise that there are all sorts of tastes when it comes to food and drink. No one can be all things to all men but we have a good try! Our elegant restaurant The Three Cairns is well known for its fine dining and we can always arrange a special menu to meet your own tastes – our chef is at your disposal for that important private dinner party. Our expanding selection of wines is being designed to meet the tastes of wine connoisseurs world-wide.

Our recent innovation of Bar 1751, so named after the year the hotel was originally built, now sports several cosy areas for our guests to drink and eat our range of good old fashioned bar meals especially designed with economy in mind and to remind us of how Mama used to make it!

Of course we are able to cater for large events like annual dinners, weddings and other functions in our function room.

THE PERFECT GETAWAY

Events & Excursions

For people who want to get away from it all, All Seasons Philipburn will tick your boxes. It is not all about peace and quiet – you need something to entertain and occupy the mind when you are at leisure. With this in mind we offer the opportunity to go off on excursions in our hotel minibuses, either in groups or individually. We can take up to 8 passengers in one vehicle and we have 2 vehicles with a total passenger capacity of 15 so the scope is huge.

At the Philipburn we are constantly looking around to create plans for potential trips out and places to visit, perhaps Bamburgh Castle, an amazing venue, the holy island of Lindisfarne or Rosslyn Chapel between Selkirk and Edinburgh – or just design your own day out and we can provide you with a vehicle and a driver – and we are fully licensed by the Scottish Borders Council.

We also aim to promote events like Murder Mystery evenings, celebrity evenings and so forth. Come to one of our events and combine it with a promotional overnight package.

YOUR PERFECT DAY

Weddings

Southern Scotland is well known for its weddings, often providing havens for eloping couples to get married. Well you could not choose a more idyllic environment than the Philipburn. Ceremonies are conducted under the “pavilion”, followed when the weather is fine by drinks and canapés in the lovely gardens. Choose your own menu to suit your pocket in our function room for 200 guests!

All of this can be managed with one of our wedding planners so no need to worry about forgetting anything. Of course we can offer accommodation as well and help you mount the wedding party to die for in the evening. Our taxis can bring your guests in and take them home again so having that extra drink is no problem. We offer a variety of wedding packages to suit every occasion and pocket. Don’t be misled – we can host weddings for the smallest of parties and every couple is as important to us.

GREEN TOURISM

Green Practices & Environment

It’s BEST when we look after our environment. We are proud at All Seasons Philipburn with our record striving to be as green as possible and still meet our guests needs.  We believe our commitment to our guests and our dedication to be green can complement one another. Even our hotel taxis are all electric.

Our key aims are :

  • To minimise the use of non-renewable and environmentally damaging resources.
  • To maximise recycling including – glass, cans, paper and cardboard, batteries, print cartridges and toners.
  • Surplus furniture is donated to charity where possible. To increase awareness of environmental issues among staff and guests.
  • Much of our food and garden waste is composted and reused within the four acres of grounds.
  • We harvest rainwater for use in the grounds and gardens.
  • We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded Gold grading under the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
